So have you guys been following the sh*tfest?
IW seem desperate to get themselves boycotted.
They've removed dedicated servers, removed modding and custom content support, implemented a pay to play online system, and other things...
Then some french dude leaked footage of one of their missions, where you play a terrorist and gun down women and children, even executing them slowly.

http://www.thedadsarmy.net/news/196-infinity-ward-snubs-pc-community
tbh its quite sad, i was really lookin forward to MW2, and i would have bought it too...but after the list of things they have taken out of the pc version, i wont touch it =/
Especially after their comments. I mean, one of their dev team commented on the pc community mass cancelling pre-orders?
He said: "The pc community needs to stop being so immature and grow up. Cancelling pre-orders is not helping your cause."
What an ass

I don't mind the scene where you have to gun people down, it's to demonstrate how horrifc the enemy you fighting is.
And they said you have the option to skip the scene, because they warn you it might be too "disturbing" for some.. tbh. Much worse stuff in the world.
And where is the pay to play system? I never heard of something like that? I know they are having their own online thing, but I doubt it's gonna be play to play.
As for the dedicated servers, yes that is gonna suck. I might hold off my copy until they sort that out.
Dont wanna be put in a random game, with some guy from russia with 500Kbit upload, and having max 5v5

what they mean (or how I understood it) with the "no deadicated server stuff is that they will run all the servers needed for the game (like what MS does for live), this means they can kill the mutli-player part of the game at any point.
and the comment "The pc community needs to stop being so immature and grow up. Cancelling pre-orders is not helping your cause."
is stupid, the consumer is telling the developer in the only way they will listen buy voting with their wallets. Online pertitions do very little and emailing them is not going to help.

i think the gunning down civs is in pretty poor taste tbh - esp in the current world climate. I probably wont bother buying the game, esp with all the other crap too.

they were in bad shape because they have marines storming teh whitehouse apparently, but the terrorist part was the final straw.
australian actavists are lobbying for it to be banned there, and i think its also getting re-tested in germany..
But yeah...dead shame

I neither approve nor disapprove at this point, given that we don't have a clue how the scene fits in to the overall story, context or point. But if the Daily Mail is already outraged, that's usually a good sign.
I'll probably buy it anyway because the first one was so good.

you two suck :P
Its not good. at all.
The game is now on torrents.
The campaign is about 4 hours, and instead of the epic battles you got in the last game, you play the spec ops team and generally its a case of 'we are one men army', at one point 2 people wipe out an entire airbase...yeah.
Nothing like MW1

Shades be serious that isnt what is going to happen. Two things are going to happen here either Infinity are going to be hosting the servers or they are going to do it a simmilar way to xbox live in which case if it works on xbox no reason it shouldnt work on PC

okay, being serious:
Listen servers hosted on a 2 meg line. Still a limitation on players...
Theyre trying to reinvent the wheel, its ridiculous.
No admin support, no custom content...ridiculous

True enough, but 9v9 is kind of bleh.
I was interested in the missions, ive seen some footage, it appears to be short, but a few moments shine, but after all of that crap, i guess ill pirate it someday instead.

Got it and played it up to Washington last night – it's cool but somehow a bit Meh as well. Basically I think the story sucks a can of ridiculous ass. But the actual gameplay is as good as ever. I'm not overly amazed by the graphics – lots of detail and objects, but lots of lores textures too. But then I have been playing Uncharted 2 recently and it's hard to play anything after that and be impressed by graphics.
Oh – and the Moscow airport level – pretty disturbing, but made me think about the whole scenario more than run around killing people in glee. There's also what appear to be child / young soldiers in the Brazil levels that I had to gun down which doesn't exactly feel good.
