hey i just got counter strike source and i have a laptop with vista on so i decided to play offline vs bots. my ping is like 400ms when i have been told offline it shud be like 5 and my fps is 9-11. i have tried almost everything from  typing rate 25000 in console to lowering the priority of hl2.exe to low. this is my spec for my computer.

1024mb DDRRll RAM, windows vista, 80GB hard drive, intel graphics media accelerator, can anyone help me?

Hmm, your graphic card is not the strongest.. but that should not really affect your ping though.. I myself have a intel graphic card, and I usually have like max 10 fps..

lol!

First off, you RAISE the priority of processes to give it more CPU time - and it don't make no difference anyway, besides maybe make your PC unstable if it neglects system processes too much.

And you want to run HL2 off of Intel graphics?
Good luck!

You'd be pushed to run HL1 on intel graphics.
THATS why your ping and FPS is so high/low respectively.

Intel GFX = sucks, almost to the point of don't even bother.

The big issues with the intel onboard stuff is they use the processor todo all the pixel and vertex stuff so your hitting your processor twice.

The only thing you can try it forcing hl2 to use a lower DX version (6,7 or 8), there should be details out there to tell you how.

Yep tried that, I think it's "-dxlevel 70" for direct x level 7, but that does not help either

I would take a voodoo 1 card over an intel. It's really bad that intel sell more GFX chips then both ATI and Nvidia. If Intel dropped out of the integrated GFX market things would be so much better.

Well... doubt that a voodoo 1 card is better than the graphics card I have on my laptop, but I get your point :P
