just checked performance levels for my adsl connection and came up with the following results.

Downstream :
Noise Margin : 38.5 dB (good, high is good)
Attenuation   : 22.0 dB (good, lower is good)
Output Power : 19
Upstream :
Noise Margin : 11.0 dB (bad, high is good)
Attenuation   : 21.5 dB (good, lower is good)
Output Power : 9

i noticed the noise margin on the upstream to be borderline low side. need to track down the cause duff filter, bad line, electrical interference. does anyone have a modem/router that has a higher output power than the 9 im getting ?

when it comes to phone lines there is alot that can be at fault, I trying to think of a number of the top of my head.....

Pah, I would just class it as bad BT wiring :p
