random reboots?
next time it does it - hit DEL at the post screen (the white text that goes on about memory and stuff when you switch on your machine)

That should take you into your BIOS setup. There should be an option there for PC health or hardware monitor - check out your cpu and other temperatures..

in fact.. did you install the ASUS smartdoctor software you got with your card? Check the temperature readings on your card with that.

yep, sounds like it could over heating under load.

or possibly there isnt enough power for some reason

have you plugged in any new usb or other hardware recently?

is there anything you can unplug/remove to see if it could be a power issue

I don't know anything about that problem of yours, but what i do know, is that EQ2 is pretty much a wierd game. I cannot understand why people pay 15€ in a month just to get to play it. However, I'm not too well-knowledged about the specifics of the game.. it could also be fun.

But as I said; Sorry, I don't know why your computer is acting so wierdly. Now when we got into it, maybe you guys could share your wisdom with me. I have also had few problems with my computer. The main and the most annoying aspect is:

My computer sometimes immobilizes itself. The cursor doesn't move and the keyboard is pretty much jammed. The only thing left to do, is to unplug the power wire.. It's irritating. Do you guys have any idea?

aaannnyway.
Back to Wombles PC problems...

Womble, after doing some research - it appears it is your graphics card drivers.

This error seems to be associated with ATI cards, so i am gonna have to assume that is what you now have.
Firstly, you will need Microsofts .net framework in order for the latest ATi drivers to work.
Get this software here and install it (if not already installed):
Microsoft .NET framework
Then, remove ALL your graphics card drivers before you install the new ones. You can do this by downloading this file from this link:
Ati driver uninstall
Once you have rebooted, install the latest drivers from this link:
Catalyst 5.4 drivers
Once you have the new drivers installed, play one of your games again, and let me know the results.

If you would like to follow my research path i took to find you these answers, please follow these links in order:

1) The error message,
C:\DOCUME~1\TIM\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERce5e.dir00\Mini041605-02.dmp has a date stamp on it, so the file it creates is to do with the directory underneath, not the file. (The sysdata.xml file confirms this). The directory looks it is also variable dependant, so i searched for the only consistant file - sysdata.xml

2) http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/WinXP/Q_20700515.html - halfway down leads to a familiar MS KB page:

3)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;318023 - This suggests getting the latest drivers.

4) Through experience, having reminents of previous drivers left in the system can cause crashes. (If you have ever had an Nvidia card in your PC i suggest getting a utility to remove the drivers for that too. I can't spend time linking to that now as i am late for work!!

If this don't work or you have an Nvidia card instead, i'll come back and help.

Aye thank you.

Thx for all the help lads , update is ive tried everything to do with swapping, deleting, and overwritting drivers , but to no avail. Ive cleaned out the case and taken the fan off the top of the heat sink , it was full of crap , i removed said crap , and that took the idle temp down from 66 deg C to 52-54 deg c.

Still not working so im thinking tomorrow off to pcworld to buy a new heatsink n fan.

Any further help would be appreciated , gut feeling is i think my g/card is fooked.

It was hardly a waste of text,   Cock,   when you took my point of uninstalling all the drivers and re-installing them and applying it to his Nvidia card now was it?
I said at the begining i was ASSUMING it was ATi, and also said at the end i would COME BACK and help if it was Nvidia.

It worries me too that you seem to suggest that installing newer drivers OVER the previous seems to be the right solution when that can cause more problems than it solves.

Womble: NEVER 'swap' or 'overwrite' drivers. That is bad practice and can cause hardware devices to become unstable (much like it is at the moment). Always uninstall old drivers first before installing new ones.
Unfortunately, uninstalling drivers using add/remove programs won't always get rid of everything when dealing with the graphics card since your computer can not disable this hardware until it has been re-booted (for obvious reasons). ATi are aware of this and produced thier own software (see previous post), however i cant find software on Nvidias site for thier own.

I have found this software however which may just do the trick:
Nvidia and ATi driver removal tool
I MUST stress though that this is to be used AFTER you have removed the drivers using add/remove programs.
So the process is:
1) Uninstall drivers using add/remove programs
2) Reboot the computer
3) run the software linked above
4) reboot the computer
5) Install the latest drivers (make sure the filename is 71.89_win2kxp_english.exe) if not click here.

If all this does not help, then post back here again and i'll come up with another suggestion.

Already got him to do that harv, no change, however using the dx tests he crashes out and gets a page in non default pag area bsod withe a driver dll file problem.
Btw hes running 9.0c, perhaps unistall/reinstall dx? or maybe going back to a previous gfx card drivers? what you think?

OK.
I have a few more ideas, but once again, i need to get to work, so i'll post some more when i get back.
In the mean time, make sure it isn't over-heating by setting up a fan array like i did below if you can:

Subsequently to this photo, i found out afterwards that it may have been the possibility of the chipset over-heating rather than the graphics card and this set-up cooled that down too.
Wom, have you got motherboard monitor installed?
And also, when you built the computer, did you install the MB drivers BEFORE everything else?

Yep. Along with dozens of other reasons too. Just trying to eliminate them tbh before we make womble go out and spend money on heat sinks/power supplies/etc unnecessary.
Another reason why i wanted to make sure womble had MB monitor.

I had similar probs womble, but that was due to overheating (or my mobo thinking it was overheating). If your mob is a NEO something or other I might know the prob.

Only other thing I have had similar to that is my new RAM buggered up me PC. But i had 2 diff speeds of the stuff which I am sure you don't

Hope you get it fixed soooooon.
