Well if you havent already heard by now (and im sure you have), CS 1.6 and steam have both finally been released and the |SFH| server is the first server on warservers (and one of the first clan servers in the UK) to be up and running properly with 1.6. This was successfully completed by Ned at around 4am this morning and has been fairly rigorously tested by a number of sleepless clan members As always our clan server can be found at 213.160.110.24:27060 and if you modify HLSW it is possible to connect through that rather than having to open up that wonderful new program (NOT!) known as steam... (pile of steaming summat anyway...) One last point as well before i forget, we only have rcon at the moment as adminmod is still being tested however we are hoping to have adminmod back up and running (with statsme too with any luck) by the end of the week... GL & HF

Damn you, damn you all. It's not that I don't like CS 1.6 it's that I DON'T like steam, So far I have not been able to stay connected for any length of time and I don't yet even have the software updated.

Steam = pile of sh*te tbh. and i maintain that thaught. however mods have been made to HLWS accordingly. Womble - change your HLSW link to CS (in our settings tab) to the HL.exe buried in the steam folder. check with me or demon on irc or vent if you need more help.
And i wasnt one of those 'sleepless clanmembers'.... honest......

Your path will be summat like this:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\demonboy@sentfromhell.co.uk\counter-strike\HL.exe
Simply update the CS game path in the game options on HLSW (or HLIT if thats ur preferred prog as it is for me) and itll work just the same way as the old one...

however to get this folder, u actually have to connect via steam first to a game, u cant make the folder and it doesnt exist till you do,
so tough luck people, connect to steam and suffer

I've done a look around, planet half life and CSnation dont report HL2 being delayed and Play.com (where i have the game preordered) are still saying its on time. I dont doubt you, i wouldnt be at all suprised if there was a delay but could you show us where you got this info?

I beg to differ - although after a quick browse on the third link i was unable to come up with an explanation the first 2 are both dated in july, which is when strong roumers were going around that the game was going to be delayed. soon after this valve then came forwards announcing that they knew of no delays. CS nation appologised for its part in spreading the roumour of the delay and thus it appears to still be on track
it i also why vlavle have now started an apparent buildup to the game by releasing more and more demo's and screenshots which can also be found on gamespot
