OK - We need to look into the infiltration and detection stuff. Check out this demo of this match Mojo, Womble and I had this evening - EVIL!

Aparently the only detectors my Tau have are Vespids, Pathfinders and single player commander with 'Detect infiltrators' wargear. How crap is that?! Look also at the MASSIVE range of the Eldar bone singer in just over a minute of this game - put a warp gate right in the back of my base within less than 2 minutes!

i told you this before tau suck balls in first 5 minutes mate, but you can get a pathfinder team easy enuff, just dont expect them to kill anything.

the best thing ive found for the tau's is this

**GAME START**

build barracks

hq build 3 scouts 2 builders

send first scout to res point nearest entrance to base

2nd to next nearest

3rd to relic or to near res point

before first builder is finished barracks will be built

1st builder - build power generator
2nd builder - build power generator

3rd builder finished - send to build listening post on entrance to base res point.

hold res build commander, while commander building tech 1 up the first listening post to a gun - provides great cover.

before building pathfinder team to detect cloaked units, upgrade 2 of the 3 scout units to max squad, once thats done get the pathfinder team

all in all this takes about 5 minutes.

once thats done my next step is build the path to enlightenment and build 1 artilary squad entrench them near base entrance.

dones the job.

again tho i have got no counter rush procedure with the TAU i just dont think they are capable of it.

commander 2 scout units and a pathfinder unit can kill any sing cloaked stealth units etc but yeah again dont expect much, best thing to do as tau is scream thru tech to get your vehicle becon and get some of the troop transporters those things waste infantry

eldar are even sneakier hit and runners now...you could come out of nowhere, nail some people and dissapear before the heavies arrive...awsome!

eldar are sucky tho, yeah there good for hit and run but after 10 mins they tend to get walked on by anyone :S

Eldar are a bit cheap. They could get squad limit of 24 and armour limit of 30 just by having a lot of warp portals and an Avatar. That amounts to lots of troops. When I play them, I usually mass Howling Banshees and Warp Spiders with a Heloquin and Preistess with 2 Fire Prisms, an Avatar and a whole lot of Wraith lords as support. Eldar are the rigged race of DoW. Specialised Units, massability, very mobile and all that.

bullsh*t! I've played enough one on ones against tau to say all you have said thus far is bullsh*t. tau are probably the best race at rushing in the game now...

one guy jumps his flying things that build instantly into my base about 40 seconds in, just after i built a power plant - they go in, take out the power plant in seconds which f**ks the build order and wastes loads of res and time.

every time i think i got the buggers, they jump off, then come back a little while later and blow something else up. I spend far too much time running after them trying to kill em then next thing i know, I got a f**k load of troops marching towards me and I have nothing....it's time to say "gg" and quit.

Those would be the Vespid. I hate those buggas. They are by far the fastest build. .5 of a second is their build speed and they get jump packs instantly. Plus, they have that rend ability. What is it? 400 hp off your building? They only cost 300/300 as well. I've always hated them.
