Tried ventrilo with a couple of ex-clan mates the other night.. its without question the best quality non-HL voice comms system ive ever used..

a) causes minimal lag - even on ISDN 64k

b) clearer than telephone quality - minimal breakup/distortion

c) will also work in conjunction with the normal HL voice comms - this is a f**king bonus and a half - all others completely bork up

If we can get a permanent VT server setup via WarServers (not sure about the possiblity of this) it will improve match games immensly imho.

y dont u use one called teamspeak 2 tbh a lot of dod clans use it but dunno about cs ones

cos TS2 sucks big balls... and not in the nice way a girlfriend does neither. Same with RogerWilco and Battlecomms... they all - in my experience - have certain flaws.. like not f**king workin, only working on some kits, not being compatible with certain soundcards, causing lag, voice distortion, transmission problems, notworking in conjunction with HL.exe etc etc etc

Ventrilo seems a hell of a lot better tbh.

yeh it is me and demon where testing it last night, you can still use the voice comms while connecting to a server which before on rw was soo laggy i couldnt

ive tried the majority of the voice comms things, i use them all the time wit MrAnderson, and the best one weve found so far is msn voice talk

and as for things like RW, and TS i find the quality bad on them, i much prefer hl voice talk tbh

Which is why VT is good. Its HL quality and bandwidth use, but you can use it whilst ya dead . Improves taccies no end in clan matches... just as long as ppl dont f**kin chat away like a bunch of old women down the bingo hall on a friday night..
