as title says  my map is finished, and ive got the files zipped up and ready for action umm...fist can upload it for me, so he'll post link here for the dl, see if you can stick it on the sfh server plz demon? xD if everyone hates the thing, take it off, but would be rather cool to see it on a proper server xD xD

UPDATE: ill upload it when i get new ftp details from warservers... they reset the pwd then sent me the wrong details! grrrrr...

its on the server looks sweet but laggs like a bitch on a lagg holdiday flying by airlaggy landing and laggor airport.

it does but it doesnt lag, its just the framerate drops like sh*t... i think its the textures.

ok having got hold of the bsp, ta nija, i can see why the comment it lags like a bitch comes from,


if you have any problems with mapping i have found this website to be soooo useful

ok constructive critisism time,

some nice work, i like the see thru pies and the way you have got things moving inside, the floor is good and i like the way it has contours,

the downside, the reason it lags like a mother f**ker is
basically it is treating it as 1 gigantic room and drawing everything at once thus frame rates are being eaten alive by the complexity of all the lights bouncing off it. you need to break the map up into smaller sections to improve fps, i know that ruins the idea of the cage, but maybe go for a modular idea.

i am not sure, but i think you also have a leak in your map that would ruin your fps, aleak is a hoile into the outside of your map if you didnt know, but i think you do, the only reason is that the lights dont seem to be casting shadows much, and the red texture doesnt look like it is meant to be that colour, if you check your pointfile from your compiling it will inform you of this.

the down ramps, you cant actually run down it without hurting yourself

i didnt think there was enough cover in the map to get about but then being a hampster cage there wouldnt be.

i didnt like the wall texture of the desert, if you want to know how to do your own oness, i believe there is a tutorail on the website i linked to to show you how.

i would have liked more pipes to run about it, ut tbh they were the wrong scale to the size of the cage and the waterdish for a hampster to get thru.

they all seem really picky reasons for problems tbh, the main one is the frame frate, i was getting 9fps, which is very bad,

now seems wrong of me to sl*g the map of, i know how hard it can be, you onlky have to lok at tthe weakass attempts at mapping i have done, io think it is still on the server, frankly i am embarressed by it now, and i gave up on my last map, although i thought the church i mapped was pretty good, basic point being, if you wouldlike some assistance from myself or just to have a couple of questions you want to ask, i am more than willing to assist, it has been a while but it omes back to me pretty quick. gama is also a good source of knowledge for map related quesations not that ghe is on the forum much. so yeah send me the .rmf file if you want and i will have a look, or if you want to co-operate on an SFH map i am up for it, womble always had good ideas for amps if we get stuck

ya it was a bit wide open spacey but some nice touches with a bit more work and defo getting the fps prob sorted could be a fun map well done m8ty
