my dad, for his sins, is with virgin.net and had 512k adsl for ages. he felt he was paying a bit over the top for it £25 a month, and so rang up for his mac code and they offered him 1mb (they're in the process of upgrading other existing 512 customers too i think)

then someone told him if he asked for his mac code again, they'd offer him 2mb.

he asked. they offered. 2mb in the next week lol! not bad for £25 a month, and not really capped (theres a supposed limit but he maxes bit torrent most of the time and hasnt heard from them)
