I am trying to find a utility that will shutdown my pc and then start it up again at a specified time. I have been searching for a while but can't find anything suitable. Any ideas.

I know you can set the pc to start up at a specified time in the BIOS settings in some computers

there are loads which will shut it down - to start it up again i think you would need to implement wake on lan.

Dont think windows scheduler can do that, but if you have a look in your BIOS setting you might have an option to power on

Nearly got it all sorted thx

My media pc can do a startup from bios at a set time although I might give the digitvtimer a try on here anyway and my server pc I can just wake-on-lan when needed and my media box is scheduled to wake it at 11:45 ready for overnight downloads if no one else had woke it up by then. I never thought of looking in the bios for a wake time :P

Get a Mac. My G5 turns itself on at 8:20am every morning from cold, gets all my email and loads the full Adobe suite ready for me when I get in at... well, usually 9am.
