linux....i have links and stuff for you, it looks easy enough, failing that, 2k or 95b, 2k would be more stable altho run like sh*t, 95b would run the best, but have a tendancy to crash, especially since you prolly aint got drivers for anything

dude - get some f**kin balls!
install redhat 7.3 and play about with it - the sooner you learn linux the sooner you open your mind to a whole world of possibilities!
*geek mode off*
seriously, linux is well worth learning and if u can piss about on your p120 with it then all the better. itll run on f**k all as well, most peeps i know have spare linux boxes on p90s - p200s. Theyre great for routing and have quality firewalls.
definately worth trying...

it needs min 384mb if u dont have an xwindows system installed. ur hdd will b installed with a linux filesystem and yes u boot off the cd.

right first problem..
made a boot disk like it said in dos etc, all worked ok
got into linux installation, and it said insert the linux cd, but its in there.
Only thing i can think of is that its on a cd-rw disk, or ive downloaded the wrong thing gah this is so much effort :P

boot disk?
whenever ive installed linux i only ever needed the CDs ,i was given the option to create the boot disk after. Oh, unless, being an old machine, does your mother board not support booting from cd? that could b why u need the disk. Anyway, were u able to read using that drive before? check the drive is properly connected... apart from that, if ur usin aboot disk (which ive never tried so cant be 100% as to what u need to do) then u should just need to stick in CD1 and itll boot from there?
