ok, I know many of u when on the server says "Oh he has low rates kick him/ask him to change etc.." well its not a "cheat" cuz, when I installed steam now.. the rate was set to 2500 and cl_updaterate 20 cl_cmdrate 20
.. and that was standard settnings by valve/steam.. and that is low rates.. like before you call them a cheater and stuff, you should know that the rates are set this way when they install cs and without changeing anything.. so u could say it is steam/valve u should accuse first.. but any lower then those rates.. are probaly set on purpose.. I have now set my rates to 10000 and the rest to 60.. gama said it was ok, and that are the rates I always had at home too.. so ya..

if you don't change your internet connection settings to DSL > 256 then it sets the rates low for modem connection, and a lot of players have settings even lower than the modem rates. the main players who are abusing this flaw in cs are those who are scoring heavily and checking there rank every 5 seconds, so these players are asked to fix there rates. most clans in ed request that rates are not set below a certain level and check them before the match.

i cant remember what server i was on, but it had a mod whereby if your ping went above 100 you got a warning, if it went over 100 3 times then you were kicked from the server,

i will do some searching to see if i can find the mod, but i wonder if you can therefore set min values for the rates client side, and anyone failing to fall within them is automatically kicked from the server, at least that way you can ensure a minimum value per person

looks like as an admin you can force rates to be a certain value and as a result simply configure a script on the server to do it to all clients, details in the forum post below, demon could you ocme up with somehting like that, and you can configure server side min and max rates,

could it be bound so that it checks at round start, i dont know, but we would have to put something on the sserver to say rates will be set to whatever, and possibly have the command execed every round start or something in case someone changed their rates, i dont know, only just started to look into it

oh and this looks like a fun one to use on someone who is cheating on the server

you need server rcon access and the command is rcon user 'player name or id'.
