And once again, I started a new case thingie in sketchup. This time it's supposed to be a SFF (Small Form Factor).

As a set base, I had to use this crappy mATX AMD motherboard, but oh well. I threw it some 1U PSU, and a 560 GTX, and I just sort of cut out the major holes, to give the motherboard an extra "skin". For cooling I added in a massive passive (wow, nice word combo) heatsink for the CPU, and I added some holes with a removable filter on the bottom side of the case, for the PSU and the GPU. I think I will have to add another fan somewhere there because it's kinda tight as it now. Oh well, here's a sneak preview as the other one is still rendering.

I just noticed that I forgot a hard drive though :duh: It would fit it there, just need to figure out where.

And also I need to figure out wheter or not it needs more cooling.. and if so, how.


I might, if I win this motherboard from the competition, actually build this thing as some sort of HTPC.
If I don't get the motherboard I won't bother building this since I don't really need a HTPC and I would have to alter the design for another motherboard (would go for intel then)

Ah yea I could, but I'm not really bothered about the prizes unless it's some sort of unique custom built thing.

Meh, the fold-out screen was nice and I liked the look of it. I didn't really see how it was a SFF(small form factor) though, it seemed kinda large.

I used Arion for this because of the GPU rendering... much faster! the 2 renders at 1920x1080 were at this level in around 10 minutes (300 orso samples I think)
