ive installed fedora today.
i cant get a display resolution higher than 800x600 though. so i try to install nvidia drivers but i have to run as root.
so i go to terminal, do 'su -' and become root.
but then how do i run the drivers from there.

apart from this driver/resolution issue, its wicked!

edit: oooh done it, didnt need new drivers. quality.

bascially linux = lots of pain for little little gain.

Or so I've found it over the years, I can say that installing drivers is more effort then it's worth as well.

you're right theres nothing YOU can do on a windows box you cant do on a windows box, but theres plenty others can do :P

i like using linux it's on my webserver simply cause once you know it it's much more versatile in what you can do.

For servers (eg web servers / game servers) I would use linux but for every day use windows is much better.
